After 7 amazing years a tough decision has been made to end
the golf tournament. Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation for
all of you that supported Chris’s tournament over the years. THANK YOU SO MUCH! His tournament has
raised over $60,000 which has been put to very good use in the continuing fight
against melanoma and also assisted seven college bound WHRHS graduates with a memorial
scholarship in Chris’s name. The remaining money in the account is being donated
to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute ($5,326.39) and also funding an additional scholarship
($750) for a new WHRHS 2019 graduate.
After the loss of someone loved so much by so many, it’s
hard to imagine a time when some semblance of normalcy will ever return. And although
that time may never fully arrive, knowing that Chris touched so many lives and that
his legacy continues to live on in such a powerful way provides solace. It’s
said that God has a plan and that everything happens for a reason, which can be
impossible to understand at times, especially in Chris’s situation. Perhaps his
passing on was a painful lesson to teach others the importance of cherishing
the ones you love, and to not let a day go by without expressing that love to all
those around you. Or maybe it was a ruthless reminder to not get caught up in
the day to day nonsense, take a step back to look at the big picture and
re-evaluate what really matters in life. One sure takeaway is to live this life
to the fullest and enjoy every moment of the journey because you never know
when this ride will end. We might never know the true reason his life was cut
so short until we cross over ourselves, but in the meantime we continue to
remember Chris and all the joy he brought into our lives and will never stop
missing him.
Much Love and God Bless You All,
Brian, Steve and Peggy
